The Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WAYS) is a 66-item self-report instrument designed to measure coping processes — not coping dispositions or styles. The WAYS can assess and identify thoughts and actions that individuals use to cope with the stressful encounters of everyday living. It measures coping processes, according to the following eight coping factors:
Psychologists can use the WAYS for research and as a stimulus for discussion in clinical, training, and workshop settings.
