The Parent, Adolescent and Child Training Skills (PACTS) is a series of highly practical guides designed for use by all practitioners who work with children and their families - community health workers, psychologists, doctors, social workers, teachers, parent educators, therapists, maternal and child health nurses and school counsellors.
Worried parents can ask when, how and even whether, to potty train their children.
Practitioners can use this guide to aid in answering such questions, or when faced with even more serious concerns of parents when children are unsuccessful in learning bowel and or bladder control, or who have lost those skills.
This guide is best utilised in association with additional instruction and medical checks where required.
