The Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) is a 72-item, standardised, norm-referenced behaviour rating scale that assesses the social-emotional competencies that serve as protective factors for children in kindergarten through to year eight.

A screening version, the Devereux Students Strengths Assessment-Mini (DESSA–mini) is a series of four, equivalent, 8-item behaviour rating scales accompanied by an innovative Ongoing Progress Monitoring Form. Each of the four, 8 item DESSA-mini forms are strength based and comprised of items taken from the various scales found on the full-scale DESSA.

The Online DESSA/DESSA–Mini Student Credit provides you with:

  • Unlimited access to the DESSA and DESSA–Mini online for 12 months. Administration, Scoring and Report Generation are included
  • PDF DESSA and DESSA–Mini Manuals
  • Intervention Strategies that support the Social–Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies assessed by the DESSA and DESSA–Mini. The intervention strategies quickly identify activities to bolster SEL skill building.

The online platform offers a balanced approach of individual, group and whole school level reports to help promote the healthy social–emotional development of all students.

The intervention strategies are created and tested by educators with decades of classroom experience. Activities are available for whole classrooms, small groups, individual students, home, and teachers/staff members.

Please note: Minimum purchase number for student credits is 250. A credit is required for each student being assessed.
