The Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence - Second Edition (CTONI-2) is a norm-referenced assessment that uses nonverbal formats to measure general intelligence of children and adults (6-89 years) whose performance on traditional tests might be adversely affected by subtle or overt impairments involving language or motor abilities.
The CTONI-2 measures analogical reasoning, categorical classification, and sequential reasoning, using six subtests in two different contexts: Pictures of familiar objects (e.g., people, toys, animals) and geometric designs (unfamiliar sketches and drawings).
The CTONI-2 Examiner Record Form is used by the examiner to collate the responses. The respondent is shown one of the three picture books (dependent on subtest selected) and asked to proceed through the assessment as directed by the examiner. The examiner will mark down both incorrect and correct responses, and use these for later scoring.
