The TCI Development Exercises provide a structured program through which team members can identify, improve and apply the skills necessary for successful teamwork. Designed as a follow-up to the TCI, the 17 exercises provide a practical way of improving teamwork:

  • Communication Audit - evaluates internal and external communication
  • Information Sharing Worksheet - increases information flow between team members
  • Interpersonal Process Review - increases trust, openness and warmth
  • Tell Me Stranger - increases generation of new ideas and opinion sharing
  • Stakeholder Analysis - reviews current situations or impact of proposed changes
  • Interaction Audit - increases formal and informal interactions between team members
  • Yes and ......... - decreases barriers to others by building on ideas
  • Brainwriting Pool - builds upon ideas generated by team members
  • Review of Time, Resources and Co-operation for Innovation -- helps members to produce new ideas and suggestions
  • Clarifying Team Objectives - clarifies group objectives
  • Developing a Mission Statement - builds a shared idea of valued outcome for the team
  • Negative Brainstorming on Team Goals - suggests improvements for ideas, avoids criticising
  • Goal Orientation Techniques -examines and challenge targets and goals
  • Constructive Controversy Techniques - evaluates team performance critically
  • Devil's Advocate Techniques -- one person within the team assumes
  • responsibility for questioning processes
  • Brainstorming -- generate ideas, possibilities and course of action
  • Morphological Analysis -- examine issues and alternatives available
