The GMA was developed specifically to assess those with higher level ability and senior managerial potential. The assessments measure knowledge, numerical reasoning, critical thinking and fl exibility of thought.

  • Verbal – critical appraisal of material that does not require specific technical knowledge
  • Numerical – presents problems set in a commercial context and measures the ability to apply mathematical knowledge and use problem solving strategies
  • Abstract – assesses flexibility of thinking and the ability to identify patterns and systems operating within two sets of figures

The assessments can be administered separately or in any combination. Each assessment has two versions, described as Form A and Form B, which are parallel in terms of level of difficulty but contain different items.

The GMA is intended for use in recruitment, selection and assessment of graduates, identification of management and promotion potential, and recruitment of people entering higher education.
