The FGA consists of three ability assessments that measure the key intellectual abilities needed in the workplace. The assessments can be used individually, in any combination or by using the Combined Reasoning test, which gives one overall result.

Verbal Reasoning – measures the ability to rapidly extract relevant information from written sources and make an objective judgement on the basis of that information

Numerical Reasoning – measures the ability to deal with numerical information in a variety of formats

Abstract Reasoning – measures the ability to acquire and assimilate new concepts and ideas with existing knowledge

Combined Reasoning – provides an overview of abilities in each of the three areas and contains items from the verbal, numerical and abstract assessments to produce an overall result.
